Principal Youth Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 434 (1) of the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989, Her Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

Andrew John Becroft, District Court Judge of Wanganui

to be the Principal Youth Court Judge with effect from 1 June 2001.

Civil Aviation Act 1990

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

On: 2 May 2001.

To: Helicopters (NZ) Limited, being the holders of an air operator’s certificate.

With respect to: Missing-in-action operations conducted in South-East Asia.

From the requirement in: Civil Aviation Rule 135.803 (a) (3) (ii) and (iii) which require that the flight and duty scheme for commercial transport operation provides the flight crew with—

(1) not less than 2 days free of duty in any 14 day period; and

(2) not less than 2 consecutive days free of duty in any 30 day period.

This exemption shall remain in effect unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.

On: 29 May 2001.

To: South Pacific Air Charter Limited.

With respect to: Boeing 737-3Q8 aircraft, registration 5W-ILF, operated in accordance with Civil Aviation Rule 119.159, on trans-Tasman international scheduled operations.

From the requirement in: Civil Aviation Rule 91.529 (a) that the aircraft shall have an automatic ELT installed:

Provided that: The aircraft is equipped in accordance with the requirements of Civil Aviation Rule 91.501 (2) and 91.525.

This exemption shall apply until 30 September 2001 unless withdrawn earlier in writing by the Director.

Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with full provisos is published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL).

For the proviso, refer to issue dated 7 June 2001.

Designation of Airspace

Civil Aviation Rule Parts 71 and 73

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 73.7 (b) (i), the following airspace details are amended with effect from 14 June 2001—

  1. The Tarawera MBZ (NZC410) frequency is amended from 121.2 MHz to 120.9 MHz.

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 71.7 (b) (i), the following airspace details are amended with effect from 6 September 2001—

  1. The following Auckland controlled airspace is amended (re-coded where necessary as indicated in brackets):
    NZA451 Auckland CTA/E (NZA454), NZA252 Auckland CTA/E (NZA253), NZA258 Auckland UTA/C (NZA257).

  2. The following New Plymouth controlled airspace is amended (re-coded where necessary as indicated in brackets):
    NZA342 TMA/D, NZA344 TMA/D (NZA343).

  3. The following Gisborne controlled airspace is amended (re-coded where necessary as indicated in brackets):
    NZA444 Gisborne TMA/D (NZA452).

  4. The following new Gisborne controlled airspace is established:
    NZA453 Gisborne TMA/D.

  5. The following Napier controlled airspace is amended (re-coded where necessary as indicated in brackets):
    NZA446 Napier CTR/D (NZA456), NZA447 Napier.
