Employment Relations Education Leave: Approved Courses

Under section 72 (3) of the Employment Relations Act 2000, the Minister of Labour has delegated the power to approve courses for Employment Relations Education Leave to the Employment Relations Education Advisory Committee.

The Employment Relations Education (ERE) Advisory Committee has approved the following courses:

Social Security Act 1964

Defence Force Allowance Amendment 2001

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following Amendment to the Defence Force Allowance Programme (as established and approved on 29 October 1999).

Amendment

  1. Title—(1) This is the Defence Force Allowance Amendment 2001.

    (2) In this Amendment, the Defence Force Allowance Programme is called “the programme”.

  2. Commencement—This Amendment comes into effect on the day after the date on which it is approved by the Minister.

  3. Interpretation—Clause 2.1 of the programme is amended by inserting, after the definition of Department, the following definition:

    “environmental factor means a factor for increasing the level of payment based on the level of medical support available in the location of deployment”.

  4. Schedule amended—The Schedule of the programme is amended by adding the following paragraphs:

    “10. NZDF personnel deployed in low risk operations in support of ‘Enduring Freedom’ with no environmental factor.

    NZ$35.00 per day

    An amount of or between NZ$12.00 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of costs for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    1. NZDF personnel deployed in low risk operations in support of ‘Enduring Freedom’ with environmental factor.

    NZ$45.00 per day

    An amount of or between NZ$12.00 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of costs for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    1. NZDF personnel deployed in medium risk operations in support of ‘Enduring Freedom’ with no environmental factor.

    NZ$65.00 per day

    An amount of or between NZ$12.00 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of costs for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.”
