Education Lands Act 1949

Land Declared No Longer Required for Education Purposes

Pursuant to section 5A of the Education Lands Act 1949, and pursuant to an authority delegated to me, I, Paul Dickson Burke, Group Manager Property, Ministry of Education Wellington, hereby give the following notice:

  1. The land described in the Schedule to this notice is no longer required for education purposes.

  2. This notice shall come into force on 1 November 2001.

Setting Apart Area of a National Park as an Amenities Area

Under section 15 (1) of the National Parks Act 1980, the Minister of Conservation sets apart that area of the Tongariro National Park, described in the Schedule as an amenities area.

New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946

Notice of the Decision of the Minister for Land Information Re: the Assigning of Place Names

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on 1 March 2001, of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign the altered or new names stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the Schedule.

Objections were received to these proposed names and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.

I hereby declare that it is my decision that the names of these places shall be as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below, and that this decision shall take effect on 29 October 2001.

Confirmed name for an island within the Boat Group of the Titi/Muttonbird Islands, south-west of Stewart Island/Rakiura. Topographic map 260 C49 & D49, Mount Allen, GR 2094500E 5327300N. Currently shown as Big Island on mapping. Also known as Stage Island.
