3. Transitional provisions—(1) Paragraph 2 of this notice shall not apply to any interest payable in respect of the period that ends with 31 October 2001.

(2) Paragraph 2 (a) of this notice shall apply:

(i) to agencies that commenced prior to 1 November 2001, as from that date;

(ii) to agencies that commenced on or after 1 November 2001, as from the date of their commencement.

(3) Paragraphs 2 (b) to 2 (e) inclusive of this notice:

(i) shall not apply to agencies that commenced prior to 1 November 2001; but

(ii) shall apply to agencies that commence on or after 1 November 2001, as from the date of their commencement.

4. Revocation—The Public Trust Office (Investment Agencies in Common Fund) Notice, New Zealand Gazette, 25 October 2001, page 3642, is hereby revoked.

Legal Services Act 2000

Legal Services Agency—Criminal Legal Aid Remuneration Instructions 1999

Pursuant to section 119 of the Legal Services Act 2000, the Legal Services Agency gives notice that the Legal Services Board Criminal Legal Aid Remuneration Instructions 1999 will be revoked from 1 November 2001.

The agency advised the revocation of clause 5 (2) of the Legal Services Board Criminal Legal Aid Remuneration Instructions 1999 in the New Zealand Gazette, 24 April 2001, page 959.

The agency now revokes all other clauses of the Legal Services Board Criminal Legal Aid Remuneration Instructions 1999.

In late October criminal providers listed with the agency were mailed interim information regarding the agency’s processes for granting criminal legal aid from 1 November 2001.

Information to replace the Criminal Legal Aid Remuneration Instructions 1999 is now to be found in the Legal Services Agency’s Provider Manual and on the agency’s web site www.lsa.govt.nz
