The Registers are to be open for inspection by the public from 8.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. on any day other than a Saturday, a Sunday and any public holiday observed in Wellington.

5. Revocation

The Notice Declaring Offices at Which Fishing Vessels May be Registered 2001 (No. F176) appearing in the New Zealand Gazette, 5 April 2001, No. 37, page 823, is hereby revoked.

Fisheries (Paterson Inlet Temporary Scallop Prohibition) Notice 2001 (No. F204)

Pursuant to section 11 (4) (b) (i) of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Paterson Inlet Temporary Scallop Prohibition) Notice 2001.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) “Scallop” means a mollusc of the species Pecten novaezelandiae.

(b) “Paterson Inlet” encompasses those waters that lie within a straight line drawn from Ackers Point on Stewart Island (at approximately 46° 53.74′ S and 168° 09.86′ E) to Bullers Point on The Neck on Stewart Island (at approximately 46° 55.21′ S and 168° 11.65′ E).

  1. Temporary prohibition on taking of scallops from Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island—Notwithstanding anything in Regulation 5 of the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991, the Minister of Fisheries hereby prohibits the taking or possession of any scallops taken from Paterson Inlet from 1 October 2001 until 30 September 2003 (both dates inclusive).

Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999

Fisheries (Declaration of Koukourārata Mātaitai Reserve Bylaws) Notice 2001 (No. F201)

Pursuant to Regulations 25 and 26 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Declaration of Koukourārata Mātaitai Reserve Bylaws) Notice 2001.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) The term “Koukourārata mātaitai reserve” means the mātaitai reserve at Koukourārata (Port Levy), Banks Peninsula notified in the Fisheries (Declaration of Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2000 (New Zealand Gazette, 14 December 2000, No. 167, page 4350).

(b) Any reference to “Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki” means any person or persons appointed as Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the Koukourārata mātaitai reserve under Regulation 21 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.

(c) “Cockle” means mollusc Chione (austrovenus) stuchburyi.

  1. Notice of approved bylaw for the Koukourārata Mātaitai Reserve—The Minister of Fisheries gives notice that he has approved the following bylaw for the mātaitai reserve at Koukourārata, Banks Peninsula:

“No person may take any cockle from the Koukourārata mātaitai reserve or be in possession of any cockle taken from that area”.

  1. Fishing subject to these bylaws—Under Regulations 25 (3) and 43 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, all fishing within the Koukourārata mātaitai reserve is subject to these bylaws.

Food Act 1981

New Zealand Food Standard 2001, Amendment No. 1

Section 11L of the Food Act 1981

The New Zealand Food Standard 2001, Amendment No. 1 was issued by the Minister of Health on 26 September 2001.

This amendment will come into force on 25 October 2001.

Amendment No. 1 to the New Zealand Food Standard incorporates changes made by Amendments No. 54, 55 and 56 to the Food Standards Code into the New Zealand Food Standard 2001.

Amendments No. 54, 55 and 56 to the Food Standards Code were published in the New Zealand Gazette on 14 June 2001, 30 August 2001 and 20 September 2001 respectively.

The New Zealand Food Standard 2001, Amendment No. 1 can be inspected at the Ministry of Health, 133 Molesworth Street, Wellington, or may be viewed on the Ministry of Health web site:
