Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on 1 October 2001, sets total allowable catches for the following fishstocks:
- Alfonsino in area 1
- Bluenose in area 3
- Elephant fish in area 5
- Gemfish in areas 1 and 2
- Hoki in area 1
- Lake Ellesmere eel fishery in area 13
- Orange roughy in areas 3B and 7B
- Oreo in areas 3A and 4
- Paua in area 7
- Sea perch in area 3

Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches and Catch Histories) Amendment Notice
(No. 2) 2001 (No. F199)
Pursuant to section 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, after having regard to the matters specified in section 21 of that Act, gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Amendment Notice (No. 2) 2001.
(2) This notice comes into force on 1 October 2001.
(3) For freshwater eels, there shall be a total allowable commercial catch for a transitional period between 1 October 2001 and 31 January 2002, and a total allowable commercial catch for the period commencing 1 February 2002.

Interpretation—In this notice, “principal notice” means the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986 (S.R. 1986/267).

Total allowable commercial catch for alfonsino—The first Schedule to the principal notice is amended by omitting the item A of the item relating to alfonsino and inserting the following item:

Total allowable commercial catch for bluenose—The first Schedule to the principal notice is amended by omitting the item E of the item relating to bluenose and inserting the following item:
E South-East (Coast), South East (Chatham Rise), Southland, and Sub-Antarctic combined 3, 4, 5 & 6 925

Total allowable commercial catch for elephant fish—The first Schedule to the principal notice is amended by omitting the item E of the item relating to elephant fish and inserting the following item:
