Social Security Act 1964

Childcare Assistance Amendment (No. 6)

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, I, Steve Maharey, Minister of Social Services and Employment—

  1. establish and approve the following amendment to the Childcare Assistance welfare programme (as established and approved on 19 December 1998); and

  2. consequentially revoke my approval of the Childcare Assistance Amendment (No. 4) dated 15 November 1999,

to come into effect on the day after this amendment is published in the New Zealand Gazette.

Amendment

The definition of income in clause 2 (1) is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the words “(other than an orphan’s benefit or an unsupported child’s benefit)”, and substituting the words “(other than an orphan’s benefit, an unsupported child’s benefit, or a child disability allowance)”.

Explanatory Note:

(This note is not part of the amendment but is intended to indicate its general effect.)

This amendment removes the child disability allowance from being counted as income for the purpose of the Childcare Assistance welfare programme.

The commencement of the following Civil Aviation Rules is suspended until applied by me by notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Accordingly, pursuant to section 28 (4) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given that the following Civil Aviation Rules apply with effect from 1 July 2000:
