D. It is now expedient that Jonathan Gilbert Leitch be appointed an officer of the Government of the Dependency:

Now therefore I, Sir Michael Hardie Boys, the Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the Governor of the Dependency, appoint

Jonathan Gilbert Leitch

to be an officer of the Government of the Dependency while he acts as Senior New Zealand Representative at Scott Base during the period beginning with this appointment and ending with the close of 16 October 2000:

I confer on Jonathan Gilbert Leitch, while he holds office as an officer of the Government of the Dependency, all the powers exercisable in New Zealand by a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers exercisable in New Zealand by a Coroner:

Jonathan Gilbert Leitch is to exercise his functions at such places within the Dependency as may be directed by an officer of the Government of the Dependency who has the general executive and administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty and the laws in force in the Dependency.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General as the Governor of the Ross Dependency, this 6th day of March 2000.

Proposed Recommendation for Amendment to the Building Regulations 1992

Pursuant to section 48 (4) of the Building Act 1991, notice is hereby given that the Building Industry Authority intends to make a recommendation for the amendment of the Building Regulations 1992 (“the building code”).

That recommendation relates to the making of amendments to clause G9 of the First Schedule to the Building Regulations 1992 (“the building code”).

Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 and the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to Regulation 13 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 and Regulation 68 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Peter Waring, principal engineer, hereby exempt from the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations specified in Schedule 2 and from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations (1976) specified in Schedule 3, and subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 4.
