Maritime Transport Act 1994

Notification of Maritime Rules

Pursuant to section 448 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, notification is hereby given of the making of the following maritime rules:

Part 25—Nautical Publications
Part 40B—Design, Construction and Equipment—SOLAS ships
Part 43—Radio
Part 49—Ships’ Lifting Appliances
Part 50—Medical Stores

Parts 25, 40B, 43, 49 and 50 shall come into force on 1 February 2001.

Parts 25, 40B, 43, 49 and 50 are available for inspection at the Head Office of the Maritime Safety Authority, Level Eight, gen-i House, 109 Featherston Street, Wellington, and for purchase from Baseline Management Limited, Level One, Graphic Images House, 35-39 Torrens Terrace, Wellington.

Transit New Zealand Act 1989

Amendment to Transit New Zealand Bylaw 1999/16 : Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles in Part Time School Speed Zones

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby amends Bylaw 1999/16 as follows.

Amendment

  1. This amendment shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. Delete the text in clause 2 (b) and replace with the following:

    "part time speed limit" means the speed limit of 40km/h, as shown by the part time speed limit sign, displayed on the sections of State highway in the Schedule below on school days between the hours of 8.25 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. and 2.50 p.m. and 3.15 p.m.

  3. After clause 2 (c), insert:

    (d) "school days" means the days on which the schools adjacent to the sections of State highway in the Schedule below are open for instruction.

This amendment was made by resolution of the Transit New Zealand Authority at a meeting held in Wellington on 6 December 2000.
