Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999

Fisheries (Declaration of Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2000 (No. F.167)

Pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister of Fisheries hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Declaration of Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2000.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the date specified by the chief executive under Regulation 22 in the Fisheries (Notification of Mātaitai Reserve and Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Notice 2000.

2. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) The term “mātaitai reserve” has the same meaning as defined in the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.

(b) Any reference to “Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki” means any person or persons appointed as Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.
