3744 NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE No. 142

The owner and the master of the M.V. Straitsman are exempt, for a period of 4 hours from 1830 hours 4 November 2000 to 2230 hours 4 November 2000, from the requirement in Rule 21.13 of Part 21 of the Maritime Rules. This exemption is issued subject to the following conditions:

  1. The ship is only engaged in the demonstration of distress pyrotechnics and no other purpose.

  2. The ship carries no more than 80 (eighty) persons, that a personal flotation device is supplied for each person, and the ship carries lifeboat and liferaft capacity for 100% of the persons carried.

  3. The ship reports to Wellington Harbourmaster the number of persons on board before departing the berth for the exercise.

  4. The exemption certificate signed by myself on 17 October 2000 is displayed for the duration of the exercise.

  5. The ship is confined to Wellington Enclose Water Limits for the duration of the exemption certificate referred to above.

Public Works Act 1981

Land Set Apart for Housing Purposes and Recreation Reserve and Land Acquired for a Recreation Reserve in the City of Christchurch

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, Kerry John Twydle, Land Information New Zealand:

(a) Pursuant to section 52, declares the land described in the First Schedule of this notice to be set apart for housing purposes and to remain vested in the Christchurch City Council.

(b) Pursuant to section 52, declares the land described in the Second Schedule of this notice to be set apart for a recreation reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and to remain vested in the Christchurch City Council.

(c) Pursuant to section 20(1), declares that, an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Third Schedule of this notice is hereby acquired for a recreation reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and is vested in the Christchurch City Council on the date of publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Classification of Reserve—Waitawhirihiri, Drainage

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Hamilton City Council hereby classifies the reserve described in the Schedule hereto as local purpose (drainage) reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.
