(2) Minor modifications to the existing design are only permissible if the certifier can demonstrate by calculation or approved type test that the performance and life of the bolster attachments have not been diminished by the modifications.
(3) This exemption will expire on recertification of the bolster attachments to a type testing process approved by the Log Transport Safety Committee and the Land Transport Safety Authority, or on the expiry of 6 months, whichever occurs soonest.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976
Pursuant to Regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Paul Patrick Chapman, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3.

(iii) All other sitting positions are to be fitted with seat belts required by Regulation 78A;
(iv) This exemption may be revoked at any time;
(v) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.
