claims or responses to claims made for the purposes of bargaining.
4.5 The parties will consider the other’s proposals for a reasonable period. Where a proposal is not accepted, the party not accepting the proposal will offer an explanation for that non-acceptance.
4.6 Where there are areas of disagreement, the parties will work together to identify the barriers to agreement and will give further consideration to their respective positions in the light of any alternative options put forward.
4.7 The parties should attempt to reach an agreed settlement of any differences arising from the collective bargaining. To assist this the parties should not behave in ways that undermine the bargaining for the collective agreement.
- Breach of Good Faith Bargaining
5.1 Where a party believes there has been a breach of good faith in relation to collective bargaining the party shall, wherever practicable, indicate any concerns about perceived breaches of good faith at an early stage to enable the other party to remedy the situation or provide an explanation.

Burial and Cremation Act (Operational Service) Notice 2000
Pursuant to section 15 (2) of the Burial and Cremation Act 1964, the Minister of Internal Affairs gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Burial and Cremation Act (Operational Service) Notice 2000.
(2) This notice comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Operational Service—The following service by members of Her Majesty’s Forces is hereby declared to be “operational service” for the purposes of section 15 of the Burial and Cremation Act 1964.
Operation Grapple
Members of Her Majesty’s New Zealand Ships Pukaki and Rotoiti at the Christmas and Malden Islands, during 1957 to 1958.
Sierra Leone
Members of the New Zealand Defence Forces who deployed to the United Nations’ Observers Mission in Sierra Leone (UNOMSIL) from 11 August 1998 until 31 October 1999 and subsequent service with the United Nations Mission Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) from 1 November 1999 onwards.
East Timor
Members of the New Zealand Defence Forces who deployed to the United Nations Mission in East Timor (UNAMET) and the United Nations Sanctioned International Force East Timor (INTERFET) from 30 August 1999, and subsequent service with the United Nations Transitional Authority East Timor (UNTAET) from 23 February 2000 onwards.

The Water Recreation (Lake Ruataniwha) Notice 2000
I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, pursuant to Regulations 18 and 20 of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979, and in exercise of powers delegated to me pursuant to section 257A of the Harbours Act 1950 and section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give the following notice.
Notice
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Lake Ruataniwha) Notice 2000.
(b) This notice shall come into force on 6 January 2001.

The area of Lake Ruataniwha is designated a reserved area for craft controlled by the Twizel Airshow 2001 only, for the period from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on 6 and 7 January 2001.

Regulations 7 (1) (a), 7 (1) (b) and 7 (2) of the Water Recreation Regulations 1979, shall not apply to the area of Lake Ruataniwha for the period from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on 6 and 7 January 2001.
