  1. DAILY LIMIT BAGS

8.1 All waters within the region other than those stated in sections 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 of this notice shall have a daily limit bag of 6 sportsfish of which no more than 2 may be salmon and no more than 4 may be trout.

8.2 The daily limit bag in the following waters and their tributaries shall be 4 sportsfish of which no more than 2 may be salmon and no more than 2 may be trout:

  • Ahuriri East Branch
  • Ahuriri River upstream from and including Longslip Creek
  • Any High Country tarns and lagoons
  • Ashburton River North Branch
  • Ashburton River South Branch upstream from and including the junction of Taylors Stream
  • Cameron, Loch
  • Camp, Lake
  • Clearwater, Lake
  • Denny, Lake
  • Deep Stream, a tributary to Lake Aviemore
  • Donn, Lake
  • Emily, Lake
  • Emma, Lake
  • Hakataramea River
  • Jollie River
  • Kakanui River upstream from Five Forks Bridge
  • Lake Stream
  • Macgregor, Lake
  • Maerewhenua River
  • Maori Lakes
  • Merino, Lake
  • Mystery, Lake
  • Ohau Lake tributaries
  • Omarama Stream
  • Opihi River upstream from the Opuha River junction
  • Orari River upstream from Slip Panel Stream
  • Otematapaio River
  • Otematata River upstream from and including Clear Stream
  • Poaka, Lake
  • Pukaki Lake tributaries
  • Roundabout, Lake
  • Spider, Lake
  • Tekapo Lake tributaries
  • Tekapo River tributaries
  • Tengawai River
  • Twizel River
  • Wainakarua River
  • Waihao River upstream from the Waihao Forks Bridges

8.3 The daily limit bag in the following waters shall be 2 sportsfish:

  • Winter Fishing Rivers during the winter season
