  1. COARSE FISHING WATERS
    5.1 Fishing for sports fish in the Kaiapoi Lakes, Rotokahutu Lake and Monopolies Pond Coarse Fishing Areas is restricted to bait fishing only with the bait assembly being restricted to a single hook.
    5.2 There shall be no restriction on the type of bait used in the Kaiapoi Lakes, Rotokahutu Lake or Monopolies Pond Coarse Fishing Areas. For the purposes of this rule the definition of “bait” in the first schedule does not apply.
    5.3 Rods without running line may be used in the Kaiapoi Lakes, Rotokohatu Lake or Monopolies Pond Coarse Fishing Areas.

  2. FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS
    Lake Ida Lake Monck (Catherine) Lake Marymere
    Little Lake Ida Lake Sarah Lake Sheppard

  3. BAIT FISHING WATERS
    7.1 Bait fishing for trout is permitted in the eastern zone only.
    7.2 Bait fishing for salmon is permitted in the Kaiapoi River only.

  4. USE OF BOATS.
    8.1 Fishing from boats which are being mechanically propelled is permitted in:
    All rivers Lake Ellesmere (Te Waihora) Lake Sumner
    Lake Forsyth Lake Coleridge

8.2 Fishing from boats which are not being mechanically propelled is permitted in:
All rivers All eastern zone lakes Lake Taylor
Lake Evelyn Lake Coleridge Loch Katrine
Lake Selfe Lake Georgina Lake Sumner
Lake Lyndon Lake Pearson

8.3 Anglers fishing from boats which are being mechanically propelled must stay at least 100 metres from any angler fishing from the shore.

  1. DAILY LIMIT BAGS
    9.1 Catch and Release Only
    All sports fish caught in the following waters must be released immediately back into the waters from which they were taken with as little injury as possible:
    Lake Marymere
    Kaiapoi Lakes
    Ashley River above the Oxford-Glentui Bridge
