Notice of Amendment of the Government Priorities Under Section 7 (1) of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Act 1990 ("the Act")
Under section 7 (1) of the Act, the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology ("the Foundation") is hereby advised of an amendment to the Government's priorities that the Foundation must adhere to in carrying out its functions under section 5 (1) (a) of the Act.
This notice amends the previous notice that was published as a Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette on Friday, 4 June 1999 (as amended in May 2000 to reflect the Moratorium on Genetic Modification).
- Delete Appendix Two and replace with the following text:
"2000/01 Output Classes and Outputs purchased by the Foundation pursuant to section 5 (1) (a) of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Act 1990.
Output Class 07—Research for Industry
Description
This output class improves the competitiveness of New Zealand's industrial sectors using research, science and technology.
Outputs comprise the following:
● Supporting development of innovative food and fibre industries. The outputs will enhance the capacity of food and fibre enterprises to innovate. ... $117,316,500
● Supporting development of innovative manufacturing and services enterprises. The outputs will help manufacturing and services enterprises (including tourism) to innovate. It also includes research on the broad factors affecting business and economic life. ... $24,696,600
● Supporting development of innovative infrastructure. The outputs will help infrastructure services, such as communications, energy, water and waste, to innovate cost effectively. It also includes New Zealand's mineral wealth and understanding of physical hazards. ... $29,098,900"
