Civil Aviation Rules
The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Part—
Part 172—Air Traffic Service Organisations – Certification
pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990.
The submission close-off date for the proposed rules is 20 August 1999.
Copies of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM 99-4) are available for viewing at: Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt and on application to the Docket Clerk, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt 6315.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption of the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.
Schedule
99/EXE/70 - CAR 121.507 (1) (i)
To Air Nelson Limited, being the holder of an air operator certificate issued under Part 119 for operations under Part 121. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 121.507 (1) (i) that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each person designated as pilot-in-command of an aeroplane has acquired, prior to commencing the training specified in Subpart I or Subpart M for pilot-in-command, at least 500 hours in the type of operations to which Part 121 applies.
The exemption is granted only in respect of each person designated as pilot-in-command of the Saab-Scania SF340 type aeroplane operated by Air Nelson Limited who has not acquired at least 500 hours in the type of operations to which Part 121 applies.
