(a) At Ngongotaha from a point (Route Position 29/15.93) measured 100 metres north-west of the Ngongotaha Roundabout extending in an easterly then a southerly direction to a point (Route Position 29/17.97) 520 metres north of Barnard Road; a distance of 2.06 kilometres.

(b) At Rotorua (Old Taupo Road) from a point (Route Position 54/0.00) at the intersection of State Highways No. 5 and No. 30 (at Old Taupo Road and Hemo Road), then proceeding south on the common section of State Highways No. 5 and No. 30 (Hemo Road) to a point (Route Position 54/0.28) measured 280 metres south of the Old Taupo Road and Hemo Road intersection; a distance of 280 metres.

(c) At Reporoa from a point (Route Position 77/13.98) 610 metres north of Reporoa Road to a point (Route Position 77/14.92) 330 metres south of the centreline of Reporoa Road; a distance of 940 metres.

(d) At Golden Springs, commencing at a point 140 metres north of the intersection with Aard Avenue (Route Position 77/18.97) proceeding in a generally southerly direction to a point (Route Position 77/19.68) located 570 metres south of Aard Avenue; a distance of 710 metres.

  1. The section of State Highway No. 23 at Whatawhata commencing at a point (Route Position 3/6.18) measured 50 metres east of the intersection with Egan Road extending in a westerly direction to a point (Route Position 3/7.01) measured 100 metres west of Horotiu Road; a distance of 830 metres.

  2. The section of State Highway No. 26 that is at Hamilton, commencing at a point (Route Position 0/0.72) 270 metres north-east of Berkley Avenue proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (Route Position 1/2.42) 200 metres north-east of Ruakura Station Road; a distance of 2.75 kilometres.

  3. The section of State Highway No. 30 that is:

(a) At Rotorua, commencing at the intersection of State Highway No. 30 (Hemo Road) and State Highway No. 5 (Hemo Road and Old Taupo Road at Route Position 144/0.00) proceeding in a north-easterly direction to a point (Route Position 144/0.702) measured 720 metres north-east of the intersection of Hemo Road and Old Taupo Road; a distance of 720 metres.

(b) At Rotorua, commencing at a point 80 metres north of the intersection with Alfred Road (Route Position 147/5.72) proceeding in a generally northerly direction to a point (Route Position 147/7.11) located 100 metres north of the intersection with Rotokawa Road; a distance of approximately 1.39 kilometres.

  1. The section of State Highway No. 35 near Opotiki from a point (Route Position 0/6.99) 100 metres west of Tirohanga Road, extending in an easterly direction to a point (Route Position 0/8.25) 1.16 kilometres east of Tirohanga Road; a distance of 1.26 kilometres.

This bylaw was made by resolution passed by the Transit New Zealand Authority at a meeting held in Wellington on the 7th day of April 1999.

Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles on State Highways in Transit New Zealand Regions

9 and 10

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby makes the following bylaw:

Bylaw

  1. Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the Transit New Zealand (Speed of Vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 1999/11 and shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. Interpretation—In this bylaw—

“vehicle” has the same meaning as in the Transport Act 1962.

  1. Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways—No person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or taken any vehicle—

(a) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw.

(b) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw.

First Schedule

  1. That section of State Highway No. 1 at Seddon from a point (Route Position 43/8.58) 45 metres north of Fearon Street to a point (Route Position 43/9.27) 35 metres south of Carkeek Street; a distance of 690 metres.

  2. That section of State Highway No. 6 at Rai Valley from a point (Route Position 65/1.60) 340 metres north of Hills Road to a point (Route Position 65/2.75) 180 metres north of Bryants Road; a distance of 1.15 kilometres.

Second Schedule

  1. The section of State Highway No. 1 at Ngauranga Gorge in Wellington from the northern abutment of the Johnsonville Bypass South Overbridge (Route Position 979/5.28) to the northern abutment of the Ngauranga Gorge overpass (Route Position 979/7.56), a distance of 2.28 kilometres.

  2. That section of State Highway No. 1 that is:

(a) At Tuamarina from a point (Route Position 18/0.69) 440 metres north of Hunters Road to a point (Route Position 18/1.42) 290 metres south of Hunters Road; a distance of 730 metres.

(b) At Spring Creek from a point (Route Position 18/4.28) 310 metres north of Rapaura Road to a point (Route Position 18/4.79) 200 metres south of Rapaura Road; a distance of 510 metres.

(c) At St Andrews from a point (Route Position 28/1.72) 50 metres south of Lybster Street Blenheim to a point
