✨ Game Hunting Regulations

30 MARCH NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE 931

No person shall have in possession on any one day, more than:

Saturday 1 May 1999: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.

Sunday 2 May 1999: Twice the number of game birds specified for Saturday 1 May 1999.

Every subsequent day: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.

Waiver of Restrictions on Baiting, and Methods of Taking Game

Baiting for Waterfowl

Persons⁴ may hunt or kill game of the family Anatidae (waterfowl) during the open season for game in all Fish and Game Regions where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted, either during the current open season for game, the thirty (30) days immediately prior to the season or any other time during the year.

Magazine Shotguns

Persons⁵ may hunt or kill game birds, as specified, within the Fish and Game Regions named below, with any shotgun of a calibre 12 gauge or less having a magazine of any type not adjusted in accordance with regulations made under this Act, and capable of holding more than one shell.

This approval shall apply only in the following Fish and Game regions for the hunting of all game birds from and inclusive of 1 May 1999. The approval is subject to the conditions specified below.

Northland
Wellington
Nelson/Marlborough
West Coast
North Canterbury
Central South Island
Otago
Southland

Magazine shotguns - restricted capacity

(a) Three shot
From 1 May 1999 and for the duration of the 1999 game season, persons⁶ may hunt or kill all game birds within the following Fish & Game regions with any shotgun of a calibre 12 gauge or less having a magazine of any type adjusted in accordance with regulations made under this Act, and capable of holding no more than two shells;
