Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session

Order in Respect of Lee Bartle Check, Enrolled Nurse

After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 42 (3), 48A and 23 (2) of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand (‘‘the council’’) in a decision dated 20 January 1999, ordered that the name of Lee Bartle Check be removed from the roll of enrolled nurses.

The council declined to fix a time after which he may apply to have his name restored to the roll.

The council also ordered that he pay 40 percent of the total costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee and inquiry by the council; that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki : Nursing New Zealand and the Wanganui and Manawatu newspapers and that he return to the Registrar all certificates and badges issued to him under the Nurses Act 1977.
