1 A pair of auxiliary headlamps (including front fog lamps) fitted to a vehicle with single headlamps does not make the vehicle a vehicle with a dual headlamp system for the purpose of this notice, even if the auxiliary headlamps (including front fog lamps) were fitted by the vehicle manufacturer as original equipment.

3 Auxiliary headlamps (other than front fog lamps) fitted to Class MA or NA vehicles first registered in New Zealand before 1 January 1992, or fitted to vehicles of other Classes of Groups M and N first registered in New Zealand before 1 January 1996, or fitted to any Group L vehicles, are not required to meet approved standards providing the lamps are fitted with globes that do not exceed 55 watt.
(iv) One pair, and only one pair, of front fog lamps may be fitted to a vehicle, whether as original equipment or after market, providing the lamps comply with one of the standards approved for fog lamps under Item 13 of the Second Schedule of the VSR90, and providing the lamps are mounted in a permanently dipped position;
