Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Australian Travel Bureau Limited, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the travel.

Schedule

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) Australian Travel Bureau Limited shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 20 December 1999;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the New Zealand Herald on 22 December 1999;

Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.

Notice of Territorial Authorities Not Required to Use the Services of Valuation New Zealand Limited (now Quotable Value New Zealand Limited) to Provide Rating Valuation Services

Pursuant to section 61 of the Rating Valuations Act 1998, I, Warwick Edward Quinn, Valuer-General, hereby give notice, having reached agreement with the New Zealand Local Government Association Incorporated, that

The Ashburton District Council

The South Waikato District Council

The Selwyn District Council

The Rangitikei District Council

The Nelson City Council

and

The Thames-Coromandel District Council

shall be exempt from the requirements of section 60 (1) of the Rating Valuations Act 1998.

Such exemptions start from 1 July 1999.

This notice replaces the notice published in the Gazette on 18 February 1999.
