Broadcasting Act 1989

Notice to Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi (known as Te Mangai Paho) In Relation to Administrative Expenses

To: Re Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi.

Pursuant to section 53M of the Broadcasting Act 1989 (as inserted by the Broadcasting Amendment Act 1993), I hereby give you notice that you may spend up to $1,351,000 (one million, three hundred and fifty-one thousand dollars) including G.S.T. on account of your administration expenses in the financial year commencing on the 1st day of July 1999 and ending with the close of the 30th day of June 2000.

These additional costs are to be met from Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi reserves and this amendment does not constitute an increase to the Entities “Administration of Maori Broadcasting” appropriation in Vote Communications as set out in the Estimates of Appropriation for the year ended 30 June 2000.

Revocation of Previous Notice

The “Notice to Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi (known as Te Mangai Paho) in relation to administrative expenses”, dated 21 June 1999 and notified to Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi is revoked from 30 June 1999.

Declaration of Species of Marine Mammal to be a Threatened Species

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Pursuant to section 2 (3) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, and after having regard to relevant international standards and relevant standards within New Zealand, I hereby declare Hector’s dolphin (Cephalorhynchus hectori) to be a threatened species for the purpose of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978.
