Casino Control Act 1990
Directions to Licensed Casino Operators – Internal Controls, and Administrative and Accounting Procedures – Amendment No. 4
Pursuant to section 70 (1) of the Casino Control Act 1990, the Casino Control Authority hereby gives the following directions:
- The directions dated 17 May 1996 as published in the New Zealand Gazette of 13 June 1996, and as amended by notice in the New Zealand Gazette of 16 July 1998, and as further amended by notices in the New Zealand Gazette of 30 September 1999 and of 28 October 1999, are hereby further amended by:
(a) deleting section 2 (a) of the Schedule to the directions, and substituting the following:
“(a) the casino at 30–38 Victoria Street, Christchurch by Christchurch Casinos Limited; and”;
(b) deleting subparagraph (i) of the definition of “casino” in section 4 (1) (b) of the Schedule, and substituting the following:
“(i) in relation to Christchurch Casinos Limited, the licensed casino operated by it on the casino premises at 30–38 Victoria Street, Christchurch, and”;
(c) deleting subparagraph (i) of the definition of “casino licence” in section 4 (1) (b) of the Schedule, and substituting the following:
“(i) in relation to the licensed casino operated on the casino premises at 30–38 Victoria Street, Christchurch, Christchurch Casinos Limited; and”.

The said directions, as amended, are given to Christchurch Casinos Limited.

The said directions, as amended, shall no longer apply to Aspinall (NZ) Limited in relation to the operation of Christchurch Casino but shall continue to apply to Aspinall (NZ) Limited in relation to the operation of Dunedin Casino.

These directions shall come into force on 1 December 1999.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of exemptions as set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.
Schedule
O/EXE/38—91.529 (a)
On 2 December 1999. Exempt each Aerotek Inc. (Pitts) S-1 type aircraft and each glider from the requirement that each aircraft shall have an automatic ELT installed.
This exemption shall apply until 30 November 2000 or until withdrawn in writing by the director.
O/EXE/40—CAR 121.379
On 2 December 1999. Exempt Air Freight NZ Limited from the requirement that—
(a) each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each of its turbine powered aeroplanes is equipped with a GPWS if that aircraft has a MCTOW in excess of 15 000 kg; or a certificated seating capacity, excluding any pilot seat, of 30 seats or more; and
(b) each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each of its turbine powered aircraft operating under IFR is equipped with a GPWS no later than 1 January 2000;
only with respect to freight operations conducted with Convair 580 aircraft, registrations ZK-FTA, ZK-KFL, ZK-KFU, and ZK-KFH.
This exemption shall apply until 1 January 2002 or until withdrawn in writing by the director.

On 2 December 1999. Exempt Airwork (NZ) Limited from the requirement that—
(a) each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each of its turbine powered aeroplanes is equipped with a GPWS if that aircraft has a MCTOW in excess of 15 000 kg; or a certificated seating capacity, excluding any pilot seat, of 30 seats or more; and
(b) each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that each of its turbine powered aircraft operating under IFR is equipped with a GPWS no later than 1 January 2000;
only with respect to freight operations conducted with Fokker F27-500 aircraft, registrations ZK-NAO and ZK-NAN.
This exemption shall apply until 1 January 2002 or until withdrawn in writing by the director.
Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos is published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL) dated 9 December 1999 which is available on the CAA website www.caa.govt.nz.
