Civil Aviation Rules

The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Part—

Part 115—Adventure Aviation—Certification and Operations

—pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990.

The submission close-off date for the proposed rules is 31 January 2000.

Copies of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM 99-6) are available for viewing at: Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt and on application to the Docket Clerk, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt 6315.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of summaries of exemptions as set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Schedule

0/EXE/20–CAR 91.701(c) & (d)

On 8 November 1999. From the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 91.701 (c) and (d) that each pilot operating an aircraft in aerobatic flight below a height of 3000 feet, or carrying a passenger in aerobatic flight, shall hold an aerobatic rating issued under Part 61.

This exemption shall apply until the 31st day of August 2000 or until withdrawn in writing by the director.

0/EXE/22, 0/EXE/23 and 0/EXE/27–CAR 47.101

On 19 October 1999. To Alpine Fighter Collection (AFC). From the requirement in CAR 47.101 (a) that the aircraft bear a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in CAR 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive, provided that the aircraft bears the agreed paint scheme and markings and the said aircraft operates only within New Zealand.

The exemptions allow the Polikarpov I-153, registrations ZK-JKM, ZK-JKN and ZK-JJC to display the paint scheme and markings of the late 1930’s Russian military.

0/EXE/24–CAR 47.101

On 19 October 1999. To the Kittyhawk Partnership. From the requirement that the aircraft bear a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive, provided that the aircraft bears the agreed paint scheme and markings and the said aircraft operates only within New Zealand.

The exemption allows P-40N-1, ZK-CAG to display the paint scheme and markings of the aircraft as last flown by the RAAF.
