Notice of Decision of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand
At a hearing held on the 20th day of August 1999, the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand heard a charge against Ian Alexander Ross of Wellington.
Ian Alexander Ross did not appear before the disciplinary tribunal and was deemed to have pleaded not guilty to the charge.
After hearing submissions on behalf of the professional conduct committee, the disciplinary tribunal found the member guilty of having been jointly convicted of a number of charges of dishonesty and being sentenced to a term of imprisonment.
Acting under rule 21.31 of the Rules of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand the disciplinary tribunal ordered that Ian Alexander Ross be removed from the register of members of the institute, and pay a monetary penalty of $3,000.
Ian Alexander Ross was also ordered to pay to the institute the sum of $2,205.15 in respect of the costs and expenses relating to the hearing before the disciplinary tribunal and the investigation by the professional conduct committee.
The disciplinary tribunal also ordered that its decision be published in the Chartered Accountants Journal of New Zealand, the New Zealand Gazette, and both daily newspapers circulating in the Wellington area, with mention of the member’s name and locality.

At a hearing held on the 20th day of August 1999, the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand heard a charge against Peter Murray Burtenshaw of Christchurch.
Peter Murray Burtenshaw did not appear before the disciplinary tribunal and was deemed to have pleaded not guilty to the charge.
After hearing submissions on behalf of the professional conduct committee, the disciplinary tribunal found the member guilty of having been adjudicated bankrupt in December 1998.
Acting under rule 21.31 of the Rules of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand the disciplinary tribunal ordered that Peter Murray Burtenshaw be removed from the register of members of the institute until final discharge from bankruptcy or a period of 5 years, whichever is the shorter period.
Peter Murray Burtenshaw was also ordered to pay to the institute the sum of $2,048.63 in respect of the costs and expenses relating to the hearing before the disciplinary tribunal and the investigation by the professional conduct committee.
The disciplinary tribunal also ordered that its decision be published in the Chartered Accountants Journal of New Zealand, the New Zealand Gazette, and a daily newspaper circulating in the Canterbury area, with mention of the member’s name and locality.

Notice of Decision of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand
At a hearing held on the 20th day of August 1999, the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand heard 4 charges against John Richard Dent of Hastings.
John Richard Dent appeared before the disciplinary tribunal and pleaded guilty to the charges as laid.
After hearing submissions on behalf of the professional conduct committee and the member, the disciplinary tribunal found the member guilty of misconduct in a professional capacity, conduct unbecoming of an accountant, negligence and/or incompetence, and breaching the code of ethics of the institute.
Acting under rule 21.31 of the Rules of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand the disciplinary tribunal ordered that John Richard Dent be removed from the register of members of the institute.
John Richard Dent was also ordered to pay to the institute the sum of $3,587.63 in respect of the costs and expenses relating to the hearing before the disciplinary tribunal and the investigation by the professional conduct committee.
The disciplinary tribunal also ordered that its decision be published in the Chartered Accountants Journal of New Zealand, the New Zealand Gazette, and a daily newspaper circulating in the Hawke’s Bay area, with mention of the member’s name and locality.
