N o t i c e

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Rodney District) Notice No. 2, 1998.

(2) (a) The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962.

(b) The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

(3) The following notices are revoked:

That part of the Traffic (Rodney District) Notice No. 2, 1990*, which relates to Woodcocks Road at Warkworth, and No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) at Wellsford.

That part of the Traffic (Rodney District) Notice No. 1, 1991**, which relates to Point Wells Road at Point Wells.

That part of the Traffic (Rodney District) Notice No. 2, 1997***, which relates to Kaipara Coast Highway at Kaukapakapa.

First Schedule

SITUATED within Rodney District at Kaukapakapa:

Kaipara Coast Highway: from a point 220 metres measured northerly generally along the said highway from the northern abutment of Dyes Bridge to a point 160 metres measured northerly generally along the said highway from the northern end of North Crescent.

SITUATED within Rodney District at Point Wells:

Point Wells Road: from Harbour View Road to a point 600 metres measured southerly generally along Point Wells Road from Waimanua Place.

SITUATED within Rodney District at Wellsford:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from Davies Road to School Road.

Second Schedule

SITUATED within Rodney District at Warkworth:

Woodcocks Road: from No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff), to a point 100 metres measured westerly generally along Woodcocks Road from Mason Heights Road.

SITUATED within Rodney District at Wellsford:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from Davies Road to a point 500 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Davies Road, and from School Road to a point 500 metres measured northerly generally along the said State highway from School Road.

Maritime Transport Act 1994

Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an Instrument of Delegation dated 19 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to me by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997.

Therefore I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, hereby make the following declaration:

Declaration

The Order in Council under section 12 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, entitled the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1992, shall not apply in respect of the following ships:

Kaharoa

Tangaroa

and workboats and/or small craft associated with either of those ships whilst working in the protected area designated β€œArea 7-Cook Strait” for the purpose of carrying out an acoustic survey of the east coast spawning population of hoki for the Ministry of Fisheries and while under the control of the Ministry of Fisheries and with the conditional written approval of Transpower New Zealand Limited for the period from 23 July to 24 August 1998.

This notice comes into effect on and from the 13th day of July 1998.
