Order of the Council in Disciplinary Session
Order in Respect of Registered General and Obstetric Nurse and Registered Midwife—Ruth Margaret Kay
After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (a), 42 (9), 42 (3), 48A and 23 (2) of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand (“the council”), in a decision dated 13 March 1995, ordered that the name of Ruth Margaret Kay be removed from those parts of the register related to general and obstetric nurses and midwives. The council declined to fix a time after which she may apply to have her name restored to the registers. The council also ordered that she pay $10,000.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee and inquiry by the council; that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki : Nursing New Zealand and the New Zealand Herald and that she return to the Registrar all certificates and badges issued to her under the Nurses Act 1977.

After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (b), 42 (3) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand (“the council”), in a decision dated 15 February 1995, ordered that the name of Albertus Marinus Maria Van Zanten be suspended from practice for a period of 6 months from the date of its decision. The council also ordered that he pay $10,000.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation by the Preliminary Proceedings Committee and inquiry by the council; that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette and Kai Tiaki : Nursing New Zealand.
