Comments are invited on the following proposed rule being developed under the Maritime Transport Act 1994:

Part 50—Medical Stores (Revised draft)

Comments should be made by 14th August 1998.

Copies of the Part are available, free of charge, from the Eighth Floor, AMP House, 109 Featherston Street, or by writing to Audrey Taulalo at Box 27-006, Wellington, or telephoning (04) 494 1239 or faxing (04) 473 8111.

Copies are being sent to all those persons who commented on the original draft of Part 50.

Notice of Appointment of Protection Officers

Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport could delegate those powers under section 16 (1) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an Instrument of Delegation dated 19 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 16 (1) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to me by an Instrument of Delegation dated 26 March 1997.

Therefore I, Russell Paul Kilvington, hereby appoint the following persons to be protection officers:

Paul Aaron Greene

Overseas Investment Act 1973

Member of the Overseas Investment Commission Appointed

Pursuant to section 3 (2) (a) of the Overseas Investment Act 1973, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to appoint Peter John Webb of Wellington, company director, to be member and Chairperson of the Overseas Investment Commission for a term ending on the 31st day of May 2001.

Reserves Act 1977

Transfer of Unformed Road

Pursuant to section 323 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Minister of Lands, hereby declares that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, has been transferred to the Crown by The Waipa District Council, pursuant to the said section 323 and on publication of this notice the said land shall be deemed to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.

Revocation of Appointment to Control and Manage

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Conservator of the Wellington Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby revokes the appointment of The Kapiti Coast District Council to control and manage the reserves described in the Schedule hereto, known as Russell Reserve and part of Matthews Park.
