Traffic Regulations 1976

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, I, Charles Anthony Johnson, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3 of this notice.

(3) This exemption may be revoked at any time; and

(4) A copy of this notice must be carried in the vehicle at all times and be readily available for inspection.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Tararua District) Notice 1998

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, give the following notice:

Notice

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Tararua District) Notice 1998.

(2) Those localities and roads shown within markings identified in the legend of and appearing on the plan numbered LT9805/1 of 2, entitled “Tararua District Council Speed Restrictions at Dannevirke, Pahiatua, Eketahuna and Woodville” and LT9805/2 of 2, entitled “Tararua District Council Speed Restrictions at Akitio, Norsewood, Ormondville, Pongaroa, Herbertville, Mangatainoka and Alfredton” held by the head office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, are declared to be closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962;

except where declared:

(a) as 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas or limited speed zones pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976; or

(b) excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of the Transport Act 1962,

as may be ascertained from the legend. The plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.

(3) This notice revokes and is in substitution for all previous traffic notices issued pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, and section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, for Tararua District.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990

Pursuant to regulation 36 of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990, I, Charles Anthony Johnson, Vehicle Compliance Officer, hereby exempt the motor vehicle specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990 listed in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 3 of this notice.
