55 020 b Objection J Walker
Similar to Objection 55/003 in respect to community of interest and facilities of communication.
55 021 b,h Objection P Higinbottom
Similar to Objection 55/003 in respect to community of interest.
Suggested solution Allow a smaller rural electorate or two, rather than a reshuffle right up the South Island.
55 022 b,h Objection A F Helfs
Similar to Objection 55/003 with respect to community of interest.
Suggested solution Incorporate rural Banks Peninsula and Akaroa in an electorate bordering on the south or east part of the City of Christchurch.
55 023 b,h Objection R Donald MP (see Objection 54/002)
Similar to Objection 55/003. Reasons are for topographical grounds there is little connection with the current Rakaia Electorate, community of interest is with Christchurch rather than Ashburton, there is no major road link from this part of the electorate to the Rakaia Electorate.
Suggested solution Similar to Objection 55/003. In addition, reinstatement of that portion of the peninsula which has been cut off from the Port Hills Electorate and put in Rakaia. Restoring the current electorate name of Banks Peninsula would logically follow.
55 024 b Objection M Carter
Similar to Objection 55/003 in respect to community of interest, communication facilities and topographical features.
55 025 b,h Objection E C J Carter on behalf of Banks Peninsula District Council -Akaroa/Wairewa Community Board
Objects to Akaroa and Wairewa areas of Banks Peninsula being included in the Rakaia Electorate on the grounds recognised strong communities of interest are split and communication is with Christchurch not an Ashburton based electorate. Banks Peninsula is geographically and topographically unique.
Suggested solution Incorporate all communities on Banks Peninsula within the same electorate.
55 026 b,h Objection J P Corboy
Similar to Objection 55/003 in respect to community of interest and topographical features.
Suggested solution Banks Peninsula be included in the Port Hills Electorate.
55 027 b,h Objection T J Brocherie and 463 others
Similar to Objection 55/003.
