Suggested solution Similar to Objection 28/004. To include lower Kaimai and Te Puke rural areas in the proposed Coromandel and Bay of Plenty Electorates respectively.

28 003 b Objection R Weller

Objects to inclusion of rural Te Puke in the proposed Rotorua Electorate on the grounds that their community of interest is clearly with Bay of Plenty, the topography separates Te Puke from Rotorua and that weak facilities of communication exist between this area and the proposed Rotorua Electorate.

Suggested solution Similar to Objection 28/004. To include rural Te Puke in the proposed Bay of Plenty electorate.

28 004 b Objection R H and P M Eglinton

Objects to the inclusion of rural parts of Te Puke, Oropi, Pyes Pa and Lower Kaimai in the proposed Rotorua Electorate on the grounds that they are geographically part of the Bay of Plenty and their community of interest is with the proposed Bay of Plenty Electorate. This is acknowledged by all existing local and political boundaries.

Suggested solutions

  • To include the rural parts of Te Puke, Oropi and Pyes Pa into the proposed Bay of Plenty Electorate.

  • To include Lower Kaimai in the proposed Coromandel Electorate.

  • To compensate shift the boundary of the proposed Taupo Electorate north and to include Waikite, Ngakuru and Reporoa in the proposed Rotorua Electorate or including Kawerau in the proposed Rotorua Electorate.
