"Vehicle" has the same meaning as in the Transport Act 1962.

  1. Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways—No person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or taken any vehicle:

(a) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw; or

(b) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw.

First Schedule

  1. That section of State Highway No. 16 that is at Kumeu and Huapai commencing at a point (Route Position 19/7.46) approximately 50 metres south-east of Old Railway Road and extending in a generally north-westerly direction to a point (Route Position 19/10.56) approximately 75 metres north-west of Trigg Road a distance of 3.1 kilometres.

Second Schedule

  1. The section of State Highway No. 1 that:

(a) At Whangarei commencing at the southern limit of the existing 50 kilometre an hour speed restriction at a point (Route Position 165/1.73) approximately 130 metres south of Murdock Crescent and extending in a southerly direction to a point (Route Position 167/0.54) approximately 540 metres south of Rewa Rewa Road a distance of 1.3 kilometres.

(b) At Silverdale commencing at the southern limit of the existing 50 kilometre an hour speed restriction at a point (Route Position 288/8.49) 105 metres south of the Moffat Road and extending in a southerly direction to a point (Route Position 288/11.41) approximately 400 metres south of the East Coast Road; a distance of 2.92 kilometres.

(c) At Dairy Flat commencing at a point (Route Position 303/1.68) approximately 900 metres north of Richards Road and extending in a generally southerly direction to a point (Route Position 303/2.38) approximately 200 metres north of Richards Road; a distance of 700 metres.

(d) At Albany, commencing at a point (Route Position 303/8.73) approximately 130 metres south of Foley Quarry Road and extending in a generally south-easterly direction to a point (Route Position 312/2.43) approximately 20 metres west of Stevensons Crescent; a distance of 2.65 kilometres.

(e) The Auckland Harbour Bridge and approaches:

in the southbound direction commencing at a point (Route Position 326/3.53) approximately 45 metres south of the southern abutment of the Onepoto Stream Bridge and extending to a point (Route Position 326/8.49) at the Wellington Street Underpass; a distance of 4.96 kilometres.

in the northbound direction commencing at a point (Route Position 326/8.49) at the Wellington Street Underpass and extending to a point (Route Position 326/3.77) approximately 305 metres south of the southern abutment of the Onepoto Stream Bridge; a distance of 4.72 kilometres.

  1. That section of State Highway No. 16 at Waitakere City commencing at a point (Route Position 19/0.20) approximately 290 metres east of Fernhill Drive and extending in a generally northerly direction to a point (Route Position 19/4.46) at Brighams Creek Culvert; a distance of 4.26 kilometres.

This bylaw was made by resolution passed by the Transit New Zealand Authority at a meeting held in Wellington on the 1st day of April 1998.

Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles on State Highways in Transit New Zealand Regions 3 and 4

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby makes the following bylaw:

  1. Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the Transit New Zealand (Speed of Vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 1998/13 and shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. Interpretation—In this bylaw,

"Vehicle" has the same meaning as in the Transport Act 1962.

  1. Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways—No person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or taken any vehicle:

(a) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw; or

(b) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw.

First Schedule

  1. The section of State Highway No. 1 that is:

(a) At Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Rotokauri Road and State Highway 1 (Route Position 452/5.52), proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to a point (Route Position 459/0.82) located 160 metres south of Killarney Road; a distance of approximately 3.92 kilometres.

(b) At Hamilton City, commencing at a point (Route Position 459/1.72) 80 metres north of Kahikatea Drive, proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (Route Position 462/0.57) located 40 metres north-east of the intersection of Lorne Street and Normandy Avenue; a distance of approximately 2.70 kilometres.

(c) At Hamilton City, commencing at a point (Route Position 463/2.43) 180 metres west of Howell Avenue, proceeding in a generally easterly direction to the intersection of Riverlea Road and State Highway 1 (Route Position 467/0.63); a distance of approximately 1.58 kilometres.

  1. The section of State Highway No. 3 that is:

(a) At Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Kahikatea Drive and State Highway 3 (Route Position 0/0,0) proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the intersection of Resthill Crescent and State Highway 3 (Route Position 0/2.20); a distance of approximately 2.20 kilometres.

(b) At Hamilton City, on Normandy Avenue commencing at the intersection of Lorne Street and
