regulations for the peace, order, and good government
of the Dependency:
C. Regulations made by the Governor on 14 November
1923† provide that all persons appointed by the
Governor may be empowered to do such things as
may be necessary or desirable to ensure that the laws
in force in the Dependency are duly observed and
complied with in every respect, and to do all things
necessary or expedient for the peace, order, and good
government of the Dependency, and to safeguard and
preserve Her Majesty’s rights and sovereignty over
and in respect of the Dependency:
D. It is now expedient that Ronald Frank Rogers and
Julian John Tangaere be appointed officers of the
Government of the Dependency:
Now therefore I, Sir Michael Hardie Boys, the
Governor-General of New Zealand, and as such the
Governor of the Dependency, appoint
Ronald Frank Rogers and
Julian John Tangaere
to be officers of the Government of the Dependency while
they act as Senior New Zealand Representatives at Scott
Base until the close of 28 February 2000:
I confer on Ronald Frank Rogers and Julian John Tangaere,
while they hold office as officers of the Government of the
Dependency, all the powers exercisable in New Zealand by
a Justice of the Peace, and also the powers exercisable in
New Zealand by a Coroner:
Ronald Frank Rogers and Julian John Tangaere are to
exercise their functions at such places within the
Dependency as may be directed by an officer of the
Government of the Dependency who has the general
executive and administrative authority in preserving Her
Majesty’s rights and sovereignty and the laws in force in
the Dependency.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor-General as the Governor of the Ross
Dependency, this 6th day of April 1998.

Pursuant to section 13 (2) of the Land Transport Act 1993
(“the Act”), I, Simon Christopher Whiteley, Manager
Safer Vehicles, notify the following exemptions from Land
Transport Rule 32012 Vehicle Standards (Glazing), made
under section 13 (1) of the Act:

Pursuant to section 2 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, I,
Charles Anthony Johnson, Vehicle Compliance Officer,

Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986, and under
powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport
Safety in an instrument of delegation, dated the 23rd day of
