Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Optical Eyeware, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the Transition III lenses.

Schedule

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) Optical Eyeware shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 7 August 1998;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 23 August 1998;

Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) Streets Ice Cream Pty Limited shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 30 October 1998;

(2) The results of sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 15 November 1998;

Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.

District Courts Act 1947

Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

John Russell Callander, retired District Court Judge

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of 12 months on and from the 28th day of April 1998.

Pursuant to section 49 of the Privacy Act 1993, I give notice as follows:

1. The Justice Sector Unique Identifier Code 1998:

   (a) was issued on 3 April 1998; and

   (b) will come into force on 30 June 1998.

2. Copies of the code are available for inspection free of charge at the offices of the Privacy Commissioner, 20 Waterloo Quadrant, Auckland and 44–52 The Terrace, Wellington.

3. Copies of the code are available for purchase from offices of the Privacy Commissioner and from Bennetts Government Bookshops.
