Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., except that from 7.00pm 8 May 1998 to 11.45pm 14 May 1998 (inclusive) and from 7.00pm 6 June to 11.45pm 28 June 1998 (inclusive) Canada Geese may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day.
Special Canada goose season: (Subject to public notification) 7.00pm 4 July to 11.45pm 22 July 1998.
Decoy limit: No limit.
Special Conditions

From the 2 May to the 28 June 1998 inclusive no person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Waikare, any drifting or temporarily moored floating stand or any stand, hide or maimai which is permanently fixed to the lake bed except within 180 metres of the outer margin of the lake, or the shoreline of Motu Nuia Island (Grape Island).

No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Ngaroto any fixed stand, pontoon, hide or maimai except within 85 metres of the margin of the lake.

No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game on Lake Rotokauri any fixed stand, pontoon, hide or maimai on any open water of the lake.

It shall be an offence for any person to wilfully leave on the hunting ground any game bird(s) shot or parts of any game birds shot.
