(e) The date on which the game was taken;

No person shall have in possession on any one day, more than:

Saturday 2 May 1998: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.

Sunday 3 May 1998: Twice the number of game birds specified for Saturday 2 May 1998.

Every subsequent day: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.

Waiver of Restrictions on Baiting, and Methods of Taking Game

Baiting for Waterfowl

Persons[^4] may hunt or kill game of the family Anatidae (waterfowl) during the open season for game in all Fish and Game Regions where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted during the current open season for game or during the thirty (30) days immediately prior to the open season for game.

Magazine Shotguns

Persons[^5] may hunt or kill game birds, as specified, within the Fish and Game Regions named below, with any shotgun of a calibre 12 gauge or less having a magazine of any type not adjusted in accordance with regulations made under this Act, and capable of holding more than one shell.

A. This approval shall apply only in the following Fish and Game regions for the hunting of all game birds from and inclusive of 2 May 1998. The approval is subject to the conditions specified below.

Fish and Game Regions of:

Nelson/Marlborough
West Coast
North Canterbury
Central South Island
Otago
Southland

B. This approval shall apply in the following Fish and Game regions during that period of the open season for game following 5 February 1999 and only for the purpose of hunting Canada Geese and Paradise Shelduck. The approval is subject to the conditions specified below.
