University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board Dissolution and Vesting Bill

Notice is given that:

  1. It is the intention of the University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board to promote the University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board Dissolution and Vesting Bill.

  2. After consultation with the public of Hawke’s Bay and interested parties, the University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board (which was set up to assist in the establishment of a university in the Hawke’s Bay) has decided that no university will be established in Hawke’s Bay in the immediate future. The objects of the Bill are to dissolve the said board and to vest the assets of the said board in the Eastern Institute of Technology.

  3. Any communications or proposals about the Bill may be sent to the University of Hawke’s Bay Trust Board at P.O. Box 6018, Napier, or by facsimile at (06) 835 1430.

  4. A copy of the Bill may be inspected The Napier District Court office and at the offices of Sainsbury Logan & Williams, Solicitors, corner of Tennyson Street and Cathedral Lane, Napier.

Notice of Initiation of New Exporter Duty Reassessment for Lead Acid Batteries From Malaysia

Pursuant to section 14 (6) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), and under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, I hereby give notice that I have initiated a reassessment of the amount of anti-dumping duty in respect of imports into New Zealand of the goods described in the Schedule.

Goods Subject to Investigation

Lead acid automotive replacement batteries for the passenger motor vehicle market and marine applications (excluding DIN batteries and deep cycle marine batteries) when manufactured by Automotive Battery Industries Sdn Bhd (ABI).

Country of Origin

Malaysia.

Description of Goods

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Items and Statistical Keys 8507.10.09.01C, 8507.10.09.12J, 8507.10.09.15C, 8507.10.09.19F and 8507.10.09.29C of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.
