The Traffic (Timaru District) Notice 1998
Pursuant to sections 52 (1) and 52 (3) of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice:
Notice
(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Timaru District) Notice 1998.
(2) Those localities and roads within markings identified in the legend of and appearing on the plan numbered LT9860/1, entitled βGazetted Speed Restrictions for roads at Geraldine Timaru Districtβ, and held by the head office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, are declared to be closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962; or 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas, pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, as may be ascertained from the legend. The plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.
(3) The following notices noted are revoked:
(a) The Traffic (Geraldine Borough) Notice No. 1, 1984*.
(b) The Traffic (Strathallan County) Notice No. 2, 1980**.

Pursuant to sections 52 (1), 52 (2) and 52 (3) of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice:

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Timaru District) Notice No. 2, 1998.
(2) The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times for the purposes of section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.
(3) The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometre an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
(4) The roads specified in the Third Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.
(5) The following notice is revoked:

SITUATED within Timaru District at Timaru:
All that area with the exception of the roads in the Second and Third Schedules bounded by a line commencing at a point where the centre-line of the South Island Main Trunk Railway meets the southern bank of Saltwater Creek; thence north-westerly, generally along the southern bank of Saltwater Creek to the eastern side of Fairview Road; thence southerly, generally along the eastern side of Fairview Road to the northern side of Rockdale Road; thence across Fairview Road at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence northerly, generally along the western side of Fairview Road to the northern side of Landsborough Road; thence westerly, generally along the northern side of Landsborough Road to the western side of Brookfield Road; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the southern side of Claremont Road 40 metres measured westerly, generally, along Claremont Road from Centennial Park Drive; thence across Claremont Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence north-westerly, generally by a right line to a point where the southern side of Gleniti Road meets the southern side of Rosebrook Road; thence northerly, generally by a right line to a point where the northern side of Rosebrook Road meets the northern side of Pages Road; thence easterly, generally, along the northern side of Pages Road to the eastern side of Oakwood Road; thence north-easterly, generally by a right line to a point on the southern side of Seaton Road at its western end; thence easterly, generally along the southern side of Seaton Road to the western side of Kellands Hill Road; thence easterly, generally, by a right line to a point where the eastern side of Kellands Hill Road meets the southern side of Washdyke Flat Road; thence easterly, along the southern side of Washdyke Flat Road to the western bank of Papaka Stream; thence across Washdyke Flat Road at right angles from its southern side to its northern side; thence northerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the western side of No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) 800 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from Martin Street; thence across No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton) at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the western side of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) 1300 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton); thence across No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence north-easterly, generally, by a right line to a point on the western side of Seadown Road 20 metres measured northerly, generally, along Seadown Road from Meadows Road; thence across Seadown Road at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence due east by a right line to the sea coast of the Pacific Ocean; thence southerly, generally, along the sea coast of the Pacific Ocean to a point due east of the commencing point; thence due west to the commencing point.
Second Schedule
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 50 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said highway from Jellicoe Street to a point 1300 metres
