Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Docket 99/EXE/16 – CAR 47.101(a)

On 8 December 1998. To Leslie Kenneth Marshall, being the holder of the certificate of registration for Ryan Aeronautical Company ST-3KR aircraft, serial number 2062, registration ZK-RYN, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101(a) that each holder of a New Zealand certificate of registration shall ensure the aircraft bears a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive.

On 15 December 1998. To Harvard 53 Syndicate, being the holder of the certificate of registration for North American Aviation Incorporated Harvard 2A aircraft, serial number NZ1053, registration ZK-JJA, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101(a) that the aircraft bear a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive.

Docket 99/EXE/36(1) – CAR 91.311(a)(2)

On 10 December 1998. To each pilot-in-command of a helicopter being operated under VFR on a police operation that is authorised by the Commissioner of Police, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 91.311(a)(2) that a pilot-in-command of an aircraft shall not operate that aircraft under VFR over any congested area of a city, town, or settlement, or over any open assembly of persons, at a height of less than 1000 feet above the highest obstacle within a horizontal radius from the aircraft of 2000 feet.

On 10 December 1998. On 11 December 1998. The director withdrew exemption 98/EXE/180 granted to Brian Denis Dunn of Wellington on the 20th day of August 1998 and has granted the following exemption in its place—

On 11 December 1998. To Brian Denis Dunn of Wellington, being the holder of a New Zealand certificate of registration for De Havilland DH 82A Tiger Moth aircraft, Registration ZK-ASV, from the requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 47.101(a) that each holder of a New Zealand certificate of registration shall ensure that the aircraft bears a registration mark in the manner, and in accordance with, the specifications prescribed in 47.109 to 47.119 inclusive.

Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos are published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL). For the proviso, refer to issue dated 17 December 1998. The CARRIL is available on the CAA website www.caa.govt.nz. Exemption files may also be viewed on prior request to the Registrar at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority, 1 Market Grove (P.O. Box 31-441), Lower Hutt.

Electoral Act 1993

Amendments to Register of Political Parties

Cancellation of Registration of Political Party and Registration of Party Logo

Pursuant to Part IV of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission resolved on 11 December 1998, to remove Advance New Zealand Incorporated and the Progressive Green Party from the Register of Political Parties maintained by the Electoral Commission pursuant to section 62 of the Electoral Act 1993.

Pursuant to Part IV of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission resolved on 11 December 1998, to cancel the registration of the logo for Advance New Zealand Incorporated and the registration of the logo for the Progressive Green Party and to remove from the Register of Political Parties maintained by the Electoral Commission pursuant to section 62 of the Electoral Act 1993 the record of the registration of those logos.

Change of Name of Political Party

Pursuant to Part IV of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission resolved on 14 August 1998, to amend the name of The Libertarians shown in the Register of Political Parties held at the office of the Electoral Commission, Level Six, Greenock House, 39 The Terrace, Wellington, to “Libertarianz”.

Pursuant to Part IV of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission resolved on 11 December 1998, to amend the name and abbreviation of Christian Democrats shown in the Register of Political Parties held at the office of the Electoral Commission, Level Six, Greenock House, 39 The Terrace, Wellington, to, respectively, “Future New Zealand” and “Future N.Z.”.

Registration of Political Party Logo

Pursuant to Part IV of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission resolved on 11 December 1998, to register the logo for Mauri Pacific.

Dated at Wellington this 14th day of December 1998.
