Declaration That Land Vested in Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu is Protected Private Land

Pursuant to section 76 of the Reserves Act 1977, and the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998, the Minister of Conservation declares that the land described in the Schedule hereto, is protected private land for the purposes set out in the relevant part of Attachment 11.20 of the Deed of Settlement dated 21 November 1997, and subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.

The land is subject to survey and, in accordance with section 144 of the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998, the District Land Registrar must make a notation on the relevant certificate of title to that land, following survey, to record that the land is declared to be protected private land and to record the date of the relevant protected private land agreement that has been entered into pursuant to clause 11.3.6 (a) of the Deed of Settlement.
