Meat Board Act 1997

Quota Allowance Allocation System in Respect of European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota

Pursuant to section 33 of the Meat Board Act 1997, notice is given that the New Zealand Meat Board has amended the allocation system for European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota.

The amended system is as set out and described in the Quota Allowance Allocation System in Respect of European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota, and will operate from 1 October 1998 with effect for the European Union tariff quota year commencing 1 January 1999.

Copies are available from the board.

Pursuant to section 33 of the Meat Board Act 1997, notice is given that the New Zealand Meat Board has amended the allocation system for United States Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota.

The amended system is as set out and described in the Quota Allowance Allocation System in Respect of United States Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota, and will operate from 1 October 1998 with effect for the United States tariff quota year commencing 1 January 1999.

Copies are available from the board.

Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994

The Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994

Pursuant to section 3 of the Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994, a levy has been imposed on, and shall be payable by the producers of any arable commodity grown in New Zealand and sold.

In accordance with section 10 (1) of the order, the Foundation for Arable Research have determined the rate of the levy for 1999 to be:

Heritage and amenity seed – 0.4% of assessed value;
Wheat, Barley, Pulses, Oats, Rye corn, Triticale, Oil seed rape, Linseed, Borage, Maize (including cribbed maize and popcorn) – 0.4% of sale value;
Brassicas (except oil seed rape) – 0.4% of assessed value;
Evening Primrose, Phacelia, Coriander, Buckwheat, Dill, Birdseed, Sunflower, Meadowfoam etc. – 0.1% of sale value.

The deadline for lodgement of notices under the Companies, Partnership, Insolvency and Land Transfer Acts for this edition is noon on Monday, the 14th day of December 1998.

All other notices must be lodged at the Gazette office by noon on Tuesday, the 15th day of December 1998.

N.B. It would be appreciated if material for this edition was delivered as early as possible.
