Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Docket 99/EXE/29 (1)

On 21 October 1998. To Air National Limited, being the applicant for the grant of a type acceptance certificate under Civil Aviation Rule 21.41 for the Jetstream 3200 type aircraft, from the requirement in CAR 26.53 (2) that the applicant comply with Part 26 Appendix C paragraph C.2.1 (b) (2), provided that the aircraft design is shown to comply with the conditions in FAA exemption No. 4908.

On 21 October 1998. To each applicant for the grant of a standard airworthiness certificate for the Jetstream 3200 type aircraft, from the requirement of Civil Aviation Rule (CAR) 21.191 (8) that the applicant provide the Director with evidence that the aircraft complies with Part 26 Appendix C paragraph C.2.1 (b) (2), provided that the aircraft design is shown to comply with the conditions in FAA exemption No. 4908.

From the requirement of CAR 172.161 (b) (1) only in respect of the requirement of CAR 172.105 (a) (1) that systems and procedures be established to ensure that the standard telephony and radiotelephony phraseology published in the ICAO Document 4444 titled Procedures for Air Navigation Services and Rules of the Air and Air Traffic Services is used.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Passenger Service Vehicle Construction Regulations 1978

Pursuant to regulation 75 of the Passenger Service Vehicle Construction Regulations 1978, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority, I, Peter Waring, Senior Engineer, Vehicle Policy, hereby exempt any passenger service vehicle of the make and model specified in Schedule 1 from the requirements of regulation 39 (2) of the Passenger Service Vehicle Construction Regulations 1978.
