Food Act 1981

New Zealand Food Standard 1996
Amendment No. 10
Section 11G of the Food Act 1981

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 10, (‘the Standard’) was issued by the Minister of Health on 10 November 1998.

The amendment incorporates into the Standard changes made in Amendment 41 to the Australian Food Standards Code (AFSC).

The amendment declares that compliance, with the provisions of Standard A1 (19) (e–i) of the AFSC concerning folate health claims, as introduced in Amendment 41 to the AFSC, is mandatory.

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, and the material incorporated by reference into the Standard, i.e., the AFSC, up to and including Amendment No. 41, is available for inspection at the Ministry of Health, 133 Molesworth Street, Wellington.

Copies of both the New Zealand Food Standard 1996 and the AFSC, and their amendments, are available for purchase from any Bennetts Government Bookshop.

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 10, will come into force on the 28th day after the date of this notification.

Civil Defence Act 1983

Appointment of Disaster Recovery Co-ordinator

Pursuant to section 69 (1) of the Civil Defence Act, I, Hon. Jack Elder, Minister of Civil Defence, hereby appoint

Jennifer Daphne Rowan

as Disaster Recovery Co-ordinator for the Ruapehu District with the duties as outlined in the attached terms of reference.

The powers contained in section 71 (2) and (3) are not conferred as part of this appointment.

This appointment shall come into force on the time and date of the making of this appointment and shall cease at 1700 hours on 11 November 1998.

Declaration of State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 52 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Weston Mervyn Kirton, hereby declare a state of local civil defence emergency to be in force in the Ruapehu District. The state of local civil defence emergency shall come into force on the time and date of making this declaration.

Declaration Terminating a State of Local Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 56 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Weston Mervyn Kirton, hereby terminate the state of local civil defence emergency declared in respect of the Ruapehu District on 30 October 1998.

The termination of the state of local civil defence emergency shall take effect from the time and date of this declaration.

Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand
a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit Waterford Wedgwood Australia, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the Waterford Crystal.

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) Waterford Wedgwood Australia, shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 17 December 1998;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 23 December 1998; Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.
