Notice of Product Ruling

1. This is a notice of a product ruling made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Product ruling No. 98/76 was issued on 29 September 1998. It relates to an employee share purchase option scheme, and the application of sub part EH and section CH 2 and OB 2 (1) of the Income Tax Act 1994.

3. A copy of the ruling may be obtained by writing to the Assistant General Manager (Adjudication & Rulings), National Office, Inland Revenue, P.O. Box 2198, Wellington.

Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977

Permission to Conduct Within New Zealand a Lottery Promoted Outside New Zealand

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit TAG Heuer Australia Pty Limited, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the TAG Heuer timepieces.

Conditions

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) TAG Heuer Australia Pty Limited shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 31 December 1998;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Christchurch Press and New Zealand Herald on 8 January, 1999; Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.

Pursuant to section 69 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1977, I, Jack Elder, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby permit TNT & Cartoon Network, to conduct within New Zealand, subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule to this notice, a lottery promoted outside New Zealand as a sales promotion scheme, to promote the sale of the Viewership of Cartoon Network.

The permission given by this notice is subject to the following conditions, namely:

(1) TNT & Cartoon Network shall not conduct the sales promotion scheme in New Zealand after 14 December 1998;

(2) The results of the sales promotion scheme shall be published in the Sunday Star Times on 3 January, 1999; Winners will be notified by certified mail;

(3) New Zealand winners shall not be subject to any extra cost when they claim their prizes;

(4) The chance of a New Zealand participant winning a prize shall be equal to that of an overseas participant.

Adjudicator and Mediator Member of the Employment Tribunal Appointed

Pursuant to section 87 of the Employment Contracts Act 1991, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
