Conditions of Approval
These automotive CNG fuel cylinders are approved subject to the following conditions—

That they comply with all the design, performance, and test requirements of New Zealand Standard NZS 5454:1989 as applicable to all-metal steel cylinders. Note the exemption in condition 5 below.

That they be provided with a cylinder shut off valve designed for the cylinder working pressure and compatible with the test pressure of the cylinder. Cylinder shut off valves shall be fitted with a handwheel to facilitate ease of opening and closing of the valve and shall be fitted with a pressure relief device, which remains in contact with the gas contained in the cylinder whether the handwheel is in the open or closed position, comprising a burst disc backed with a fusible alloy plug having a nominal melt temperature of 100°C. Should the alloy plug melt the burst disc shall yield at a pressure of not less than 24.7 MPa and not more than 30.0 MPa, otherwise it shall remain inoperative. Cylinder valves shall be provided with an outlet thread of ¼” NPT (female) and a stem thread compatible with the cylinder neck thread.

That they are tested at periods not exceeding 5 years, in accordance with the requirements of Australian Standard AS 2337.1.

Cylinder markings are in accordance with section 9 of New Zealand Standard NZS 5454:1989.

Section 5 (5.3) “Cylinder neck and fittings threads” of New Zealand Standard NZS 5454:1989 shall not apply. The cylinder neck thread shall be 1.125” – 12UNF – 2B straight thread utilising a modified scuba o-ring seal. The thread of any valve or fitting screwed into the neck threads and intended to be part of the final installation shall be compatible with the thread specified above.

The Traffic (Grey District) Notice 1998
Pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, give the following notice:
Notice
(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Grey District) Notice 1998.
(2) The section of road specified in the First Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
(3) Those parts of The Traffic (Grey District) Notice No. 1, 1990* which relate to the roads in the Second Schedule are revoked.
First Schedule
SITUATED WITHIN Grey District at Paroa.
No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth): from a point 100 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Weenik Road to a point 70 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Clough Road.
Second Schedule
No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth): from a point 100 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Weenik Road to a point 100 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Jacks Road.
No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth): from a point 200 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Morleys Road to the Saltwater Creek Bridge.

The Traffic (Timaru District) Notice No. 6, 1998
Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads and Rail, give the following notice:

(1) This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Timaru District) Notice No. 6, 1998.
(2) Those localities and roads shown within markings identified in the legend of and appearing on the plan numbered LT9860/2, entitled “Gazetted Speed Restrictions for Roads at Temuka Timaru District”, and held by the Head Office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, are declared to be closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962; except where declared:
a) as 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976; or
b) excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of the Transport Act 1962,
as may be ascertained from the legend. The plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.
