Notice of Intention to Consider Varying a Scheduled International Air Service Licence
Pursuant to section 87J (3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 28 August 1996, I give notice that having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the scheduled international air service licence held by that airline in order that it might:
(i) with respect to Canada, offer code-share only services over the routing “From points in New Zealand to any point or points in Canada, optionally via any point or points and optionally beyond to any point or points”, with such level of capacity as is filed with and authorised by the Secretary for Transport; and
(ii) in respect of the United Kingdom, operate up to 7 services per week from points in New Zealand via intermediate points to points in the United Kingdom, with the opportunity to exercise fifth freedom traffic rights between those intermediate points and points in the United Kingdom.
Any person or organisation wishing to make representations relating to this application must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 3175, Wellington, on or before 2 October 1998.

The Minister of Transport intends to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Parts—
Part 61 – Pilot Licences and Ratings, amendments to Part 19, Part 61 Subparts A, B, C, F, G, H, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, and R
Part 129 – Foreign Air Transport Operator Certification, amendment
– pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990. The submission time for the proposed part is 16 October 1998.
Copies of the Notice of Proposed Rule Making are available for viewing at: Aviation House, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt and on application to: The Docket Clerk, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt 6315.

Automotive CNG Fuel Cylinder Approvals
Pursuant to regulation 90b of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety, I, John Andrew Justice, Senior Engineer, Safer Vehicles Policy, hereby approve the CNG fuel cylinders specified in the Schedule hereto, for inclusion in any CNG automotive fuel system installed and operated in accordance with the requirements of New Zealand Standard NZS 5422, Part 2, 1987 (incorporating Amendment No. 1), subject to the conditions of approval set out in this notice.
