Transit New Zealand Act 1989
Bylaw Fixing the Maximum Speed of Vehicles on State Highways in Marlborough
Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand makes the following bylaw.

Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as Transit New Zealand Bylaw 1998/1 and shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Interpretation—In this bylaw—
“Vehicle” has the meaning assigned to it in section 2 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.
- Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways—No person shall drive or take or permit to be taken any vehicle—
(a) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw; or
(b) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw.
First Schedule

That section of State Highway No. 1 that is at Seddon from a point (at Route Position 43/8.58) 50 metres north of Fearon Street to a point (at Route Position 43/9.19) 70 metres south of Fell Street — a distance of 610 metres.

That section of State Highway No. 6 that is at Rai Valley from a point (at Route Position 65/1.60) 340 metres north of Hills Road to a point (at Route Position 65/2.75) 180 metres north of Bryants Road — a distance of 1.15 kilometres.
Second Schedule
That section of State Highway No. 1 that is:
(a) At Tuamarina from a point (at Route Position 18/0.69) 440 metres north of Hunters Road to a point (at Route Position 18/1.42) 290 metres south of Hunters Road — a distance of 730 metres.
(b) At Spring Creek from a point (at Route Position 18/4.28) 310 metres north of Rapaurua Road to a point (at Route Position 18/4.79) 200 metres south of Rapaurua Road — a distance of 510 metres.
(c) At St Andrews from a point (at Route Position 28/1.72) 50 metres south of Lyster Street to a point (at Route Position 28/3.23) 100 metres south of Alabama Road — a distance of 1.51 kilometres.
(d) At Ward from a point (at Route Position 73/0.46) 40 metres north of Tachalls Road to a point (at Route Position 73/1.77) 90 metres north of West Road — a distance of 1.31 kilometres.
This bylaw is made by delegated authority from the Transit New Zealand Authority.

Conservation
Reserves Act 1977
Authorisation of the Exchange of a Reserve for Other Land
Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby authorises the exchange of the reserve described in the First Schedule hereto, for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto:

First Schedule:
110 square metres, being Lot 2, D.P. 46591. All certificate of title 25K/359.
Second Schedule:
108 square metres, being Lot 1, D.P. 46591. All certificate of title 25K/358.

Classification of a Reserve
Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Canterbury, hereby classifies the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, as a recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Canterbury Land District—Christchurch City
6.4334 square metres, being part Reserve 1579. All Canterbury Gazette, 1874, page 35, and all New Zealand Gazette, 1907, page 25. All certificate of title 8K/1162.
Subject to transfer 64853/1.
