The St Brendan’s School, Upper Hutt, Board of Trustees Election Notice

Pursuant to clause 9(1) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, and acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, I hereby validate an irregularity in the election of parent representatives for the St Brendan’s School Board of Trustees. I have decided that the irregularity could not have materially affected the result of the election.

This notice takes effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

Chanel College, Masterton.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on the 21st day of August 1998. A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the district office of the Ministry of Education, 116 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui.

Fisheries Act 1983

Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 5) 1998 (No. F96)

Pursuant to section 28W (3) of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Minister of Fisheries, after consultation with the New Zealand Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission and after having regard to the provisions of section 28W (5) of the Fisheries Act 1983, hereby gives the following notice:

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(a) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice (No. 5) 1998.

(b) This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette and shall expire on the 20th day of December 1998.

2. Interpretation—In this notice, “Southern Scallop Fishery” has the meaning ascribed to it in section 2 of the Fisheries Act 1983.

3. Exemption to quota aggregation limit—(1) As from the date that this notice comes into effect, the Challenger Scallop Enhancement Company Limited is permitted to hold quota in excess of the 20 percent aggregation limit as provided for the Southern Scallop Fishery, up to an aggregation limit of 100 percent.

(2) As from the date that this notice comes into effect, the directors of the Challenger Scallop Enhancement Company Limited are permitted to hold quota and interest in quota in excess of the 20 percent aggregation limit for the Southern Scallop Fishery as provided in section 28W (1) of the Fisheries Act 1983, up to a limit of 100 percent.
