The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 8 was issued by the Minister of Health on 18 August 1998.

This standard, and the material incorporated by reference in this standard, i.e., the Australian Food Standards Code, up to and including Amendment No. 39, is available for inspection at the Ministry of Health, 133 Molesworth Street, Wellington.

Copies of both the New Zealand Food Standard 1996 and the Australian Food Standards Code, and their amendments, are available for purchase from any Bennetts Government Bookshop.

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 8, will come into force on the 28th day after the date of this notification.

New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 9

Section 11g of the Food Act 1981

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, Amendment No. 9 was issued by the Minister of Health on 18 August 1998.

The amendment incorporates into the Standard changes made in Amendment 40 to the Australian Food Standards Code (AFSC), with the exception of changes to Standard A1 concerning permitted health claims for folate.

The amendment declares that compliance, with the provisions of Standard A18 of the AFSC concerning food produced using gene technology as introduced in Amendment 40 to the AFSC, is mandatory.

The New Zealand Food Standard 1996, and the material incorporated into the Standard, i.e., the AFSC, up to and including Amendment No. 40, is available for inspection at the Ministry of Health, 133 Molesworth Street, Wellington.

Copies of both the New Zealand Food Standard 1996 and the AFSC, and their amendments, are available for purchase from any Bennetts Government Bookshop.
